One of my best friends is getting married!!!
I had the honor of hosting a shower for her, along with my other bestie Maegan & our bride-to-be's friend Megan.
We decided on a Tea Party theme and it turned out sooo good! I kind of wanted to leave the decorations up a little while longer.. My house looked so cute!
"old, new, borrowed, & blue
Sheridan is ready to say 'I do'!
Welcome to Sheridan's shower
The big day 4-11-14"
I wanted the decor to be light & frilly & just fun but not over the top or crazy expensive.
We chose some easy & fun crafts to make and set to work.
Whimsical tea party decor was very easy to create. These are DI tea cups & mugs with little tea spoons that I spray painted gold to match out color scheme. The cups were about 0.50¢-0.75¢ each and the spoons were 0.25¢ each.
And in my family room I have these great big windows that were perfect to set up some fun tassels and open fans. The tassle DIY is here.
We made the fans with this DIY here. (It's a DIY in chinese or something haha but the pics help. It's showing how to make a table decoration too but I modified it.)
And we made fans with book pages (also bought the book from the DI).
I also used doilies (about $2 for a pack of 20 at Wal-Mart) for the smaller banners behind the tassels, simply folding them in half & gluing them together on the string.
What's a tea party without some tea?!
Egg salad sandwiches, smoked ham & turkey sandwiches.
Desserts!!!! Too many delicious ones to list.
But macaroons!! Oh so yum!
We had a pretty laid back party, not too structured and just let people chat & start eating as they wanted to.
Love Sheridan's nails! Her wedding colors are peacock feather colors! ;)
This was our only true "game" and it was pretty tough! Everyone took it pretty seriously haha and it totally got silent in my house while everyone tried to figure out the answers.
Kym and Bre ended up both tying with 13/18! I was way impressed. They both won the tea cup candles that I made.
Our second "game" wasn't a real game, but while we ate, we had everyone write down a favorite memory they individually had about Sheridan, the bride. It was a little hard to peg it down to just one!
Once everyone had done it we put them in a bowl & had everyone (except our bride) grab a card that wasn't their own and read it aloud. The trick was for our bride-to-be to try and figure out whose memory was whose. It was a fun little sentimental game and we gave Sheridan the cards so that she wouldn't forget about her girlfriends when she's gone and married. ;)
Then time for gifts!!
We all posed for some cute pics with the bride-to-be. :)
Loved how this party turned out, so excited for Sheridan's wedding!!
xoxo
