Before we left our house, Liv was apparently exhausted and totally passed out on the couch.. Something she NEVER does!
On our drive up Micah and I took the typical driving selfie
And Zoey tried desperately to get into the front seats.. Again! She's awful.
Once we got up to Midway we set to work unpacking all of our crap.. It's impressive/annoying how much you need for just one night with a toddler & dog!
Micah and I settled our things and let Liv and Zo go crazy while I prepped the food and he made sure the hot tub was warm enough/did everything else haha.
People started arriving and the men joined Micah while the girls stayed in the kitchen and helped with their food prep.
To keep things simple we made spaghetti for dinner and split up the duties so everyone helped out. There was sooooo much garlic bread haha I think I over-filled the quota ;P but more garlic bread is always a good thing.
After dinner we all split into different areas of the cabin, some went hot tubbing, others watched a movie in the basement, and the rest of us stayed on the main level chatting and snacking some more.
At midnight we did the usual toasts and drank some bubbly sparkling apple cider. Micah was my kiss at midnight 😘
All of the babies went to sleep just after dinner, but Karter (Britt and Scotty's little boy) was totally not wanting to miss out on the New Years fun! Poor guy was so out of his element and was awake later than a lot of the adults!
We all finally went to sleep around 3-4am, totally shot. We watched waaay too many awesome YouTube videos (guys shooting guns to the "Cups" song!) and ate way too much. Total success! :)
The next morning we had a super yummy breakfast of waffles, eggs, Costco muffins, bacon, and cereal. People then split again and went sledding, played on the RZR in the snow, took naps, or headed home.
Liv started to get a cold and had absolutely NO desire to do anything except be held by me.. And cry. So we didn't stick around very long after people left and didn't do any sledding with her. But I did take some adorable pics with her while the car warmed up.
Once we were in the car and starting down the canyon, Liv passed out hardcore. My poor little duckie.
It was such a fun quick trip up to the cabin and great start to the New Year! Happy 2015, here's to many more amazing memories to be made!!
xoxo
