That's the before picture..
First, Micah groomed the whole thing with his dad's tractor, tearing up all the weeds and making it flat.
And started to build up this corner of our backyard.
He next door neighbor happened to be doing some rock work at the same time, so Micah commissioned their worker to build our rock wall. We got the rocks from our friends Jeff & Natalie's backyard (we didn't steal them haha they didn't want them).
Once the rock wall was finished, Micah rented a trencher to dig the piping lines for the sprinklers.
Poor guy had to cut through a lot of rock and really tough soil.
Micah laid the sprinkler lines (had a minor heart attack when one of the lines cracked and he had to redo three sections). We then had a massive amount of topsoil delivered. Micah spread that around with the tractor the night before the party and was out there till 2am. Sorry neighbors!
And then had 12,000 pounds of grass to tackle next.
The morning of the party, Micah, Taylor, Lynn (my father in law), and our neighbors Brandon & Jason helped to lay all of that. Micah drove the grass around the back of the house so it was quicker to pull off and place. Within only a couple of hours the whole thing was done! Everyone left and Micah put the finishing touches on the sprinkling system.
But then it was done!!
Our backyard isn't finished by any means but the first stage is done. The rock wall area will have pavers and a firepit & outdoor theatre section, with the deck having a step up addition that wraps around the back of the house with another set of stairs down. And the dirt on the other corner of the backyard will be a playhouse & swingset.
So excited to have grass and not just weeds & dirt!!
